Undergraduate study in Computing and Information Systems (CIS): BSc, Diploma and Work Experience Entry Route

Course Director's welcome

David Brownrigg
Course Director, Computing and Information Systems,

Goldsmiths College

There is increasing awareness of a gap, of understanding and communication, between technical computing specialists and business management. The former often do not understand business processes while the latter frequently lack awareness of the threats and opportunities brought by changing levels of computer systems use. This gap can be spanned by a new breed of technically competent management, able to comprehend management requirements for the organisation in business terms and lead a team of technical professionals in providing Information Systems solutions that meet those needs.

The Computing and Information Systems programme is designed to help you become such a leader, but is by no means limited to such a vocational purpose, however valuable. The programme also provides a path to a variety of higher degrees that can further differentiate you in today's competitive employment scene.

This programme will demand much effort from you. Goldsmiths has designed it to be testing and challenging in order to provide lasting benefit.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Computing and Information Systems programme, and hearing the story of your success in the years ahead.
